"Midway in our life's journey, I went astray from the straight road and woke to find myself alone in a dark wood." - The Divine Comedy, Inferno

"The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new EYES." - Marcel Proust

My Poems

Waking

Let's see if we can
Mend your broken soul
I could hear the echos
of words
Ring in my head
I shut my eyes
Hoping ...
That it would block all
As haunting as this maybe
It rings true
I can hear the rage
Like storms inside of me
Quiet ... like the wind
before a storm
Yet, it's peaceful
Not angry
Or fearful
It just is
The waking silence
When walls come down

My Bio

It's that wonderful time to change what I have to say about myself and confuse people even more then I already have. Which seems to be one of my favorite things to do, as of late.

I've held myself in silence for many months now, hiding and reflecting about what the on-line community means to me verus real life. I've held sway in the on-line community for over 18 years now, and while I've always maintained a real life, sometimes you get yourself to caught up in the passions of the on-line world, and you can also drown and finding yourself lost in a storm you can't control. So, I guess it's nice to take a reality check, and back off when the time deems right to do so.

So, now I've gone silent.

That's the update ...

It is a curious thing, isn't it?
I think people just enjoy the sense of wrongdoing that comes along with the pairing. Ares is almost the epitome of evil, while Gabrielle is portrayed as the show's light, or innocence. The perversion of which seems to appeal to people.
Or maybe that's just me... Ha.
The only other one who followed it, that I knew of, was Alder... so I am slightly surprised to find that it has such a following.

    Yes, a very curious thing.

I see your point though about him being thought of as "evil", if we are going to term it that, cuz I believe Ares was so much more, and not entirely evil. I understand the point about Gabrielle too, but once you get into the later seasons, you find Ares warming up to her, becuz now he's seeing in her what Xena did.

I liked the Furies episode and Ares, going ... "her I still don't get", he was talking about Gabby, and I don't think that's a direct quote but enough to where you might remeber the scene I'm talking about.
