"Midway in our life's journey, I went astray from the straight road and woke to find myself alone in a dark wood." - The Divine Comedy, Inferno

"The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new EYES." - Marcel Proust

"For one human being to love another; that is perhaps the most difficult of our tasks; the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation." - Rainer Maria Rilke

My Poems

Waking

Let's see if we can
Mend your broken soul
I could hear the echos
of words
Ring in my head
I shut my eyes
Hoping ...
That it would block all
As haunting as this maybe
It rings true
I can hear the rage
Like storms inside of me
Quiet ... like the wind
before a storm
Yet, it's peaceful
Not angry
Or fearful
It just is
The waking silence
When walls come down

My Bio

It's that wonderful time to change what I have to say about myself and confuse people even more then I already have. Which seems to be one of my favorite things to do, as of late.

I've held myself in silence for many months now, hiding and reflecting about what the on-line community means to me verus real life. I've held sway in the on-line community for over 18 years now, and while I've always maintained a real life, sometimes you get yourself to caught up in the passions of the on-line world, and you can also drown and finding yourself lost in a storm you can't control. So, I guess it's nice to take a reality check, and back off when the time deems right to do so.

So, now I've gone silent.

That's the update ...

Maybe I was remiss in saying Ares was evil, really I meant something more of a darker presence than the other characters.
I do know the scene you are talking about, and what a great one that is. I especially love the little "grab and pull," when Gabrielle rushes into the temple and is grabbed by Ares, ha, it's fun.

Oh, there were also some great scenes in "The Quill Is Mightier." Do you remember those?

Yes, I liked his darker personality though, and Kevin did such a wonderful job acting Ares. He made me love him, even though I disliked Ares sometimes in the show. It takes a special person to be able to pull that off for a character.

I do remeber the Quill is mighter, and yes, it's also one of my favorites, but then again I love Hooves and Harlots, and not everyone loves that show. I love the way they introduced Ephiny.

It is a curious thing, isn't it?
I think people just enjoy the sense of wrongdoing that comes along with the pairing. Ares is almost the epitome of evil, while Gabrielle is portrayed as the show's light, or innocence. The perversion of which seems to appeal to people.
Or maybe that's just me... Ha.
The only other one who followed it, that I knew of, was Alder... so I am slightly surprised to find that it has such a following.

    Yes, a very curious thing.

I see your point though about him being thought of as "evil", if we are going to term it that, cuz I believe Ares was so much more, and not entirely evil. I understand the point about Gabrielle too, but once you get into the later seasons, you find Ares warming up to her, becuz now he's seeing in her what Xena did.

I liked the Furies episode and Ares, going ... "her I still don't get", he was talking about Gabby, and I don't think that's a direct quote but enough to where you might remeber the scene I'm talking about.

Wolves are creatures of their own class, I wouldn't dream of trying to tame you, friend.
You say you've been warned about me? Oh, well I hope nothing too horrible has been said.
I'm sorry for your luck on working night shifts. I can't imagine they are too much fun... Or are you a night person?

    Yes, that we are!

Saw the thread at the newbie question area, and yes, there are prolly alot of subtexter's here, and it'll be just fine. I understood your point, and being a subtexter myself, I didn't take offense to what you said. You were pointing out a view point, and that's clearly alright. I do normally ship Gab/Xena, Xena/Callisto, and Gab/Callisto, but what I think is great about this community, is you will always find someone who believe the same with a ship you might like. It gives you both a common ground to talk about things. I am alittle curious about the Gab/Ares ship that's coming around, but I do find it hard to twist my head around it, becuz He so didn't like her, and always thought she was ruining his plans to get Xena back into the fold. So, it's an interesting ship, but at the same time a hard one for me to wrap my head around.

Nothing bad was said about you, so no worries. I don't like night shifts, I prefer my day shifts.
